Small-arms blaster firepower
This article reveals the destructive anti-materiel capability of blasters and compares them to contemporary explosives on Earth including TNT, gunpowder and gelignite.

  • Based on these comparisons, it is thought that a blaster rifle discharged at full power might yield destructive anti-materiel effects equivalent to a 20 to 60 megajoule explosive detonation in a hard metal target.

The article focuses on examples wherein blasters were being used at higher-end & maximal power level settings to achieve anti-materiel effects, such as blasting through walls, destroying bulkheads or demolishing rock & masonry.
